Dr. Jeremy Thomas: Leading Black Hawk College Forward
Contract Extension Reflects Confidence in Leadership
The Black Hawk College Board of Trustees unanimously approved a contract extension for President Dr. Jeremy Thomas through June 2030, underscoring its confidence in the college’s future and continued momentum under his leadership.
The decision to extend Dr. Jeremy Thomas’s contract reflects his impact on Black Hawk College and his collaborative partnership with the Foundation.
Black Hawk College President
Dr. Thomas – who became the college’s president in June 2023 – has successfully completed the original term of his contract. The board’s action extends his leadership for an additional four years.
“Jeremy has challenged us to think bigger about what Black Hawk College can be,” said Fritz Larsen, board chair. He said Thomas’s focus on students, workforce development and community partnerships has strengthened the college in measurable ways.
Larsen added that expanding educational opportunities, strengthening relationships with employers and investing in state-of-the-art facilities that prepare students for successful careers are creating lasting value for students, communities and the regional economy.
Partnership in Action
Dr. Thomas brings a hands-on approach to the College through his active participation in the Foundation’s planning and initiatives. With his support, the Foundation continues to expand community engagement and philanthropic support. His accessibility and commitment to Black Hawk College’s students, faculty and donors continue to strengthen connections across the College and throughout the communities we serve.
We encourage you to join us at an upcoming event and experience Dr. Thomas’s leadership firsthand. His dedication to students, partnerships and opportunity continues to advance the mission of both Black Hawk College and the Foundation.
