For the Hill of It
5k Hustle
Fall Fun Run
This Quad Cities tradition brings the community together in support of students and the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Black Hawk College.
Our "For the Hill of It" 5K Hustle takes place each November on the picturesque Quad-Cities Campus, inviting runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities to enjoy a crisp autumn day as they navigate the campus’s scenic, rolling hills. This beloved Quad Cities tradition supported BHC’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
Event Overview
The 5K follows a route through the Quad-Cities Campus, known for its open green spaces and varied terrain. The course includes a mix of gentle elevation and wide paths, creating a balanced experience for both runners and walkers.
After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to join us post-race event with refreshments, door prizes, and prize drawings. Awards are presented to the overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three in each age group and the wheelchair division.
Community Impact
More than just a run, the Hawk Hustle supports the Physical Therapist Assistant Program and its students, making every step count toward a purpose close to home. Rooted in community and tradition, it’s a true campus highlight that brings people together year after year.
Event Proceeds
Since 2011, the Hawk Hustle has raised more than $85,000 to support the Physical Therapist Assistant Program and provide scholarships. These funds help reduce financial barriers and support students as they prepare for careers in healthcare.
Special Thanks
Jerry & Cathy Lack, longtime supporters of Black Hawk College, have successfully coordinated the race since 2012.
