Brett Lohman
Brett Lohman’s career reflects a strong commitment to leadership, entrepreneurship, and community service. Through his work in business, civic development, philanthropy, and aviation, Brett has played an important role in helping strengthen both the Geneseo community and the broader Quad Cities region.
Building a Family Business and Community Legacy
Brett Lohman is a graduate of Black Hawk College and St. Ambrose University.
He serves as co-president and one of the owners of Lohman Companies, a family-owned business based in Geneseo and Moline that specializes in insurance strategies for individuals and business owners nationwide.
Brett has also maintained a longstanding connection to Black Hawk College through his leadership with the Black Hawk College Foundation, where he previously served as board chair and board member.
Leadership Throughout the Geneseo Community
Over the years, Brett has been deeply involved in numerous civic and economic development organizations dedicated to strengthening the Geneseo community.
His service has included leadership roles with the Geneseo Chamber of Commerce, the Geneseo Community Development Corporation, the GIFT Foundation, the Geneseo Foundation, the Geneseo Town & Country Foundation, and the Hammond-Henry Hospital Foundation Planned Giving Committee.
He also helped establish scholarship and community development initiatives while serving on boards and advisory committees focused on economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
In addition to his organizational leadership, Brett spent seven years coaching youth soccer in Geneseo, reflecting his dedication to supporting young people and community engagement at every level.
A Passion for Aviation and Industry Leadership
Beyond business and civic service, Brett has built an impressive legacy in aviation.
A multi-engine instrument-rated pilot, Brett has served as both a board member and past president of Gen-Air Inc., the operator of the Geneseo airport. He also helped co-found Geneseo’s Trains, Planes and Automobiles Stearman Fly-In and was instrumental in launching the Gen-Air Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast and Stearman Fly-In traditions that continue to bring visitors and aviation enthusiasts to the community.
Brett also serves as governor of the Quad City Area Quiet Birdmen, part of a national pilots’ organization dedicated to aviation fellowship and preservation.
Professionally, Brett has remained active in the insurance industry through leadership and advocacy roles with state and national independent insurance agent organizations, including legislative and advisory committees representing insurance professionals throughout Illinois and across the country.
