David L. Emerick, Jr.
David (Dave) Emerick’s career reflects decades of leadership in banking, education, and community service throughout the Quad Cities region. Through his professional expertise and extensive volunteer involvement, Dave has helped strengthen organizations, support local initiatives, and improve opportunities for individuals and families across the community.
Building a Career in Banking and Leadership
Dave Emerick attended Black Hawk College from 1983 to 1985 before earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northern Illinois University in 1989.
He has spent more than 40 years in the banking industry and currently serves as vice president in the loan department at Blackhawk Bank & Trust. Throughout his career, Dave has worked across many areas of banking, including installment, commercial, and real estate lending, as well as deposit operations, business development, product marketing, and branch management.
In addition to his banking career, Dave has shared his professional expertise through teaching American Institute of Banking courses at Black Hawk College and speaking on banking and business-related topics throughout the region.
Rotary Leadership and Community Service
Dave joined the East Moline/Silvis Rotary Club in 2002 and has served in numerous leadership positions, including board member, program chair, membership chair, foundation chair, and club president during both the 2008–09 and 2019–20 terms.
Today, he serves as governor of Rotary International District 6420, representing 43 Rotary clubs across northwest Illinois. His previous Rotary leadership roles included assistant governor, assistant governor coordinator, and finance committee member.
Dave is also a member of the Paul Harris Society and Polio Plus Society and is recognized as a major donor and benefactor to the Rotary International Foundation.
Strengthening the Quad Cities Community
A lifelong Quad Cities resident, Dave has remained deeply involved in nonprofit and civic leadership throughout the region.
He currently serves as treasurer for the Black Hawk College Foundation, School Health LINK, New Kingdom Trailriders, and Arrowhead Youth Services. He also serves on the boards of the Genesis Health Services Foundation, the Rock Island Housing Authority, Community Housing Partners, and the Rock Island County Council on Addiction.
Previously, Dave served as a trustee for Black Hawk College, continuing a longstanding commitment to education, leadership, and service within the community he has called home his entire life.
