About Birdies for Charity

Birdies for Charity part of the John Deere Classic, fuels nearly 500 local non-profits each year. The program allows organizations to raise funds with zero administrative fees, ensuring every dollar—and an additional 5% bonus—goes directly to charity.

Last year, Birdies for Charity achieved its highest charitable contribution to date, raising an impressive $16.9 million for 460 charities. All charities received an 9% bonus on what they raised through the program.

Since 1971, the John Deere Classic has generated over $206 million for regional charities, with most of those funds coming through Birdies for Charity.

The Birdies for Charity Bonus Fund, made possible by tournament revenues, special events, donations, and a matching grant from John Deere, guarantees participating charities a 5% bonus on qualifying pledges. This commitment helps organizations like Black Hawk College Foundation maximize their impact in the community.
