Greg Ryckaert

Greg Ryckaert’s career reflects decades of professional leadership, community involvement, and dedication to helping others succeed. Through his work in civil engineering and his ongoing service throughout the Quad Cities, Greg has combined technical expertise with a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and community growth.

Greg Ryckaert Building a Career in Engineering Leadership

Greg Ryckaert grew up in Taylor Ridge, Illinois, and graduated from Alleman Catholic High School in 1981. He continued his education at Black Hawk College, earning an Associate in Science degree in 1983.

He later attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1986.

Greg began his engineering career with a consulting civil engineering firm in Dallas, Texas, before returning to the Quad Cities region in 1988 to join Missman Inc., now part of IMEG Corp.. Over the course of nearly four decades, Greg served in a variety of leadership roles including project engineer, executive vice president at Missman, and client executive at IMEG before retiring in March 2025.

Throughout his career, Greg remained active in professional engineering organizations dedicated to advancing the engineering profession and mentoring future industry leaders.

Giving Back Through Leadership and Service

Greg has long believed in giving back to the community where he and his wife raised their family.

Since 2014, he has served on the Black Hawk College Foundation Board, including serving as board chair beginning in 2019. Through his leadership, he has helped support the foundation’s continued growth and its mission of expanding scholarship opportunities for students.

Greg has served with organizations including Renew Moline and the Development Association of Rock Island while volunteering his time for numerous community initiatives and nonprofit efforts throughout the region.

Supporting Students and Strengthening the Community

Over the years, Greg has participated in STEM education initiatives through the Quad City Engineering and Science Council and volunteered for organizations and events including Habitat for Humanity International, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Toys for Tots, the Hand in Hand Chili Challenge, and neighborhood cleanup projects in Rock Island.

He also enjoyed coaching youth soccer, baseball, and softball while his children were growing up and now looks forward to supporting and coaching his grandchildren.

Greg credits Black Hawk College as an important part of his educational and professional journey and remains proud to help students pursue their own goals and future success through the work of the foundation.
