Molly Tiernan Foley
Molly Tiernan Foley’s career reflects visionary leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to strengthening communities. Through her work in economic development, marketing, and organizational leadership, she has helped shape initiatives and institutions both regionally and nationally while remaining a strong advocate for education and community growth.
Building a Career in Leadership and Economic Development
Molly grew up in East Moline and graduated from Alleman Catholic High School before attending Black Hawk College from 1992 to 1994.
She continued her education at Northern Illinois University and later completed her bachelor’s degree through Western Illinois University-Quad Cities.
Following graduation, Molly began her professional career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association before joining the Illinois Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, where she eventually served as vice president.
In 2006, Molly was recruited by Next Generation Consulting and spent several years working across North America as a consultant in economic and workforce development. Much of her work focused on generational research and understanding how changing workforce demographics influence economic trends and community development.
Leading National Brand Growth at IMEG
In November 2012, Molly joined Quad Cities-based KJWW Engineering Consultants, now part of IMEG Corp..
Today, she serves as IMEG’s chief marketing officer and is also a principal owner in the nationally recognized engineering firm. In her role, Molly leads a team of 35 marketing professionals while overseeing national brand positioning and strategic engagement initiatives for a company with more than 2,600 employees nationwide.
Throughout her career, Molly has earned a reputation for helping organizations launch initiatives, build momentum, and achieve long-term success.
Advocating for Community and Education
Molly has remained actively involved in civic leadership and nonprofit service throughout the Quad Cities region.
In 2006, she became the first female commissioner appointed to the Metropolitan Airport Authority at the Quad City International Airport. She also has served on numerous civic and nonprofit boards, including leadership roles with the Black Hawk College Foundation, where she previously served as board chair.
A strong supporter of community colleges and workforce development, Molly believes educational institutions play a critical role in creating thriving communities and expanding opportunity for future generations.
“Institutions like Black Hawk College not only provide a great foundation for secondary education, but they are also key pieces of the puzzle in developing vibrant communities where all can thrive,” she says.
